propane system

RV propane systems can be complicated, but their overall operation is quite simple. High-pressure propane flows out of the tank into a regulator. There, the regulator reduces the gas to a controlled, low-pressure flow to be used for propane appliances. Appliances such as furnaces, water heater’s, refrigerator’s and BBQ grill’s all typically use propane to work. When working properly propane is a safe and clean way to operate such items but when not checked, it can be dangerous and unsafe when used. Here at Adventure Rv we will gladly test for proper operation of your propane system and do the proper testing in order to keep you and your family safe!

  • Furnaces (30,000 btu) typically use 1 gallon of propane for 3 hour’s of operation in cold climates, that can amount can change but when figuring how much gas is needed just remember 1 gal per 3 hours of operation.

  • Best practice is to have your Lp appliances checked once a year for leaks and proper operation to avoid any damage or injuries.

  • All ways keep your Lp detectors and Co2 monitors up to date and check on a frequent basis. Most detectors are only good for 5 years.
