The Rv refrigerator can be a bit overwhelming to understand if you don’t know what type of refrigerator you have or what type of system it uses to keep your food cool. Several types of refrigerators can be found in a rv such as gas absorption, 12v compressor and 120v compressor. Among those you can have a gas absorption fridge that runs off 12v, 120v and propane.
Gas absorption refrigerators have ammonia mixtures within the cooling units that help pull heat from the box keep your fridge cooling, if you smell ammonia or see a yellowish residue behind your fridge it may be time to replace your cooling unit.
